Employment Opportunities at Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS), October 2018
THPS was formed in 2011 as part of the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) five-year strategy, which called for PEPFAR-funded HIV activities to transition from international organizations engaged in an emergency response to the epidemic, to indigenous partners leading sustainable country programs. THPS transitioned from ICAP – Columbia University and from October 2013 THPS became a direct recipient of USG funding after winning a funding opportunity announcement. Currently THPS is implementing a PEPFAR funded program (2013-18) aimed at providing comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services in Pwani, Mtwara, Kigoma regions and Zanzibar. Mtwara program was transitioned from THPS, (a CDC funded partner) to USAID in October 2016.
THPS also has received funding from US NIH, HJMRI Foundation, UNAIDS/Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon, USAID/Measure Evaluation and Havard T. Chan School of Public Health.
