Volunteer role: Nutrition Adviser

Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential 
• A degree in Nutrition (specialty MN nutrition).
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• Teamwork, with the ability to work collaboratively in diverse multi-cultural groups.
• Ability to work in an institutional environment, - hospital and health facility settings - as well as in the community setting

• Experience and knowledge in Maternal, newborn and child nutrition.
• Proven coaching and mentoring skills
• Effective communications skills (report writing, verbally)
• Fluency in Swahili and English and ability to communicate with different stakeholders on different levels within organisations
• Experience of developing communication materials for nutrition

Qualifications (essential): 
• Degree in Community Nursing or other relevant degree
Experience
• Minimum five years professional experience, of which at least 2 yrs. in maternal/neonatal care and some experience in department management

Volunteer role: International Resilience Volunteer

Role overview
The International Resilience Volunteer will closely work with VSO programme teams and partners to strengthen and mainstream VSO’s approach to resilience.
The Ideal candidate will carry out pilot risk and capacity assessments among communities and partner organisations in order to contribute towards building preparedness plans. This would involve training partner organisations and community representatives in understanding the different concepts of resilience, carrying out assessments, and engaging in discussions regarding perceptions of risks and preparedness to build on the importance of resilience.

Volunteer role: Social inclusion Adviser-National Volunteer

Role overview
The volunteer will support the process of conducting a Social Exclusion and Gender Analysis (SEGA) for the project, related to reproductive health and family planning; specifically around ensuring the project approach is adapted to reach the and meet the needs of the most marginalized for example the poorest of the poor, people with disabilities, young women; and engaging men and boys in family planning.

The volunteer will be responsible for embedding (mainstreaming) inclusion and gender in the project and proactively provide technical support, coaching and capacity building to VSO staff, volunteers and project partners.

Volunteer role: Organisational, Policy & Strategy Adviser

Role overview
The Organizational, Policy and strategy adviser alongside the Secretary General of the Youth and Employment Department will lead the Policy operational and strategic planning process.
You will use your strategic planning, policy and organizational development background to lead all elements of the strategic and policy operational planning process including context analysis, participatory research, documentation and approval.
